CBD dosage: our advice on how to use it correctly

What is CBD?
First of all, it's important to understand where CBD comes from, from its full name cannabidiol. It's a component of the hemp plant. It is one of the best-known and most sought-after molecules in hemp, after THC, known for its psychotropic effects. While THC levels in products sold in France are prohibited if they exceed 0.2%, CBD levels are not subject to any particular limit. Some isolate extractions even reproduce CBD at levels approaching 99%!
You've already understood that CBD is a molecule in the plant, but cannabidiol, as it's known in full, has other benefits that you may not be aware of. For a start, CBD has anti-inflammatory properties that can ease pain! This can be a great help in the fight against chronic diseases, for example. CBD also has anticonvulsant properties that can relieve patients suffering from epileptic seizures. CBD even helps people suffering from panic and anxiety attacks, but that's not all! How to use CBD?
The different methods of consuming CBD and the doses to be respected are closely linked to the products you select.
How to use CBD flowers?
If you have chosen CBD flowers, we recommend either :
- Consume by vaporization using a dedicated vaporizer (no combustion)
- As a pure infusion or blended with your favourite teas and herbal teas
- Ingest them by adding them to your favorite recipes (cakes, etc.).
How to use CBD oils?
If you have chosen CBD oils, we recommend either :
- Direct oral ingestion
- Sublingual application for faster results (directly under the tongue)
- A cutaneous application directly on a sensitive area (massage)
How to use CBD teas and infusions?
Consuming CBD teas or CBD infusions is both delicious and highly relaxing. All you have to do is heat up some water, insert your CBD tea or CBD infusion into the hot water and wait 3 minutes before drinking it.
How to use CBD edible oils?
Culinary preparations based on hemp CBD oil are diffused directly onto your favorite dishes and recipes! So there's virtually nothing to do except select the right seasoning to go with your dish and enjoy it.
Whatever methods you choose to consume your CBD, the important thing is that you find the one that suits you best in order to get the beneficial results of CBD on you.
What dosage for CBD?
How much CBD can I take?
The administration method we always emphasize, because it's the best, is the sublingual method! This involves placing drops of CBD oil directly under your tongue.
Once the drops are placed under your tongue, you'll need to wait a minute with the few drops of CBD oil under your tongue so that the oral mucosa can properly absorb the CBD and follow it into the bloodstream.
The recommended quantity is really personal and varies according to each pathology. Our advice is, and always will be, to start with a low dose and low concentration (e.g. a few drops ofconcentrated oil with 20% CBD), then gradually increase the dose until you achieve the desired effects.
When should you take CBD?
The amount of CBD you consume depends on your weight, age and desired effects. If your weight is higher than average, you'll logically need to consume more CBD or go for a higher concentration.
The number of intakes will change if you consume 40% or 10% CBD oil, as a higher concentration of CBD will require fewer intakes than a lower concentration.
In any case, start with a low concentration of CBD and take a few drops once or twice a day for a few days. Then gradually increase the number of drops until you achieve the effects you're looking for. CBD dosage is an important factor in determining whether or not you are sensitive to cannabidiol.
What's more, it's important that CBD is consumed regularly and at set times for best results. The CB1 and CB2 receptors in your endocannabinoid system will respond much better and faster if they are used to receiving a dose of CBD at set times.
Also, remember to consult a health professional before consuming CBD, especially if you're undergoing treatment. As a reminder, cannabidiol is considered a dietary supplement, not a drug.
Take CBD before or after meals?
Some people may advise you to take CBD before a meal, while others may tell you the opposite, after a meal. It's all very subjective and really comes down to individual experience. So it's difficult to give a factual opinion on this, although we'll try to answer it.
If you consume CBD oil or candy orally after a meal, the effects may not be felt because you've just eaten and your digestive tract is full of food that can reduce or even block certain elements by not digesting them. These are known as first-pass effects.
To avoid this, we recommend consuming your CBD oil before or during your meal, but not after.
Is it possible to overdose on CBD?
It's a fact: CBD is harmless and its virtues are increasingly recognized. Many people wonder whether it's possible to take too much CBD (overdose) and experience side effects. Well, the answer is yes! It is possible, but don't panic, we'll explain everything.
As with all foods, the molecules present in our food have what we might call a threshold that must not be exceeded to avoid undesirable effects. For CBD dosage, it is important not to exceed 1500 mg in the body. As a daily dose is given as 25 mg per day, it would be logically impossible to ingest that much CBD.
As you can see, it's usually impossible to recommend a perfect CBD dosage, but there were some important points to be aware of.
