Recently, the CJEU (Court of Justice of the European Union) issued a ruling on a CBD case in France, "the Kanavape case", finding French legislation too restrictive and contrary to European law. It held that CBD does not constitute a narcotic substance, under the international conventions in force and in the light of current scientific knowledge. The French State has taken note and is examining ways and means of taking its conclusions into account. It considers that developing a common European approach to CBD-based products would be desirable and is continuing discussions on this matter with the other Member States and the European Commission.

✅ Latest news on the legislation: 23 June 2021! The Court of Cassation, France's highest court, handed down its decision concerning a Grenoble retailer selling CBD products. It overturned the ruling of the Grenoble Court of Appeal, which had previously convicted this retailer, and once again allows him to sell his products. Buying, selling and consuming CBD in France are therefore considered permitted and entirely legal (although not yet subject to a clearly defined legislative framework)!
