CBD Full Spectrum, CBD Broad Spectrum and CBD Isolat! What's the difference?
The CBD world is throwing around a lot of new terms that we weren't used to using before. Whether we're talking about CBD Full Spectrum, CBD Broad Spectrum or CBD Isolat, in this article we'll explain the difference between the three, and why each is important.
First of all, a little diagram is sometimes worth a thousand words:
What is CBD Full Spectrum?
As you can see from the illustration above, CBD Full Spectrum is nothing more and nothing less than the extraction of hemp in its entirety, while retaining all the molecules present.
CBD Full Spectrum integrates the cannabinoids found in hemp: CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC and THC molecules, but in residual quantities that comply with current legislation, i.e. less than 0.2%. Full Spectrum also contains terpenes and flavonoids. Full Spectrum is mainly used for CBD oils, enabling better assimilation than the other two processes.
What is CBD Broad Spectrum?
Let's continue with CBD Broad Spectrum, which has been stripped of a single molecule: THC! It contains the cannabinoids found in hemp, as well as terpenes and flavonoids, without a trace of THC. This process makes it legal for products such as e-liquids and certain oils.
For top-level competitive athletes, CBD Broad Spectrum is very interesting, as no trace of THC can be detected during a doping control, for example, since these products simply don't contain any.
For people who don't want any trace of THC in their bodies, Broad Spectrum CBD is an excellent compromise.
What is CBD Isolat?
Finally, let's move on to CBD Isolat. Presented in powder, crystal or wax form, Isolat is the result of an extraction process that retains only the CBD. Isolate-based products therefore contain 99% or pure CBD, with no trace of other cannabinoids (CBG, CBN, CBC, THC, etc.).
Now you know the difference between these three processes, which come up regularly in the CBD world.
