Will CBD ever be available in pharmacies?

What you need to know about CBD in pharmacies
CBD in pharmacies is logically available in France! Yes, you read that right: you can go to your pharmacist and ask for cannabidiol-based products. However, there are only a few products that pharmacies sell at the moment, the majority of which are CBD oils, but also CBD candies and sometimes even CBD hash.
CBD in pharmacies is subject to several rules so that pharmacists can offer cannabidiol-based products for sale. Firstly, your pharmacy must receive authorization from the French government. Secondly, CBD sold in pharmacies must comply with the law, with THC levels not exceeding 0.2%. Thirdly, cannabidiol must not be promoted for its medical virtues, but must be considered as a dietary supplement. Lastly, to obtain authorization for the sale of CBD in pharmacies, pharmacies must advise their customers in compliance with the code of ethics. They must indicate recommended doses and the correct dosage.
It is therefore possible to find CBD in pharmacies under these conditions, even if the sale of cannabidiol is not yet widespread in pharmacies in France. We advise you to contact a CBD shop, which will be just as specialized, if not more qualified, on the subject.
CBD in online pharmacies
It's easier to find CBD in online pharmacies than in physical pharmacies, because the sites are not subject to the same limitations as physical pharmacies. They are, however, subject to one and the same rule: drugs prescribed by a doctor. Since they don't host people in a store, online sites will be able to offer more CBD choices because they don't need to justify the legality of their business. But buying CBD from an online pharmacy is thus a little riskier from a security point of view than in-store. Many websites that claim to be online pharmacies really aren't, and that's the difference. So be sure to take a look at whether the web pharmacy is well rated and secure before you buy, or get closer to a CBD shop that knows much more about cannabidiol.
CBD: a dietary supplement
And yes, CBD is not a drug! Today, cannabidiol is considered a dietary supplement. The health authorities have not yet recognized the benefits of this molecule, nor has the scientific community validated its virtues. When you buy CBD from a pharmacy, you're buying similar products to those sold in specialist stores. CBD shops and pharmacies are equally concerned with the quality of the cannabidiol-based products they sell. In France, there is one cannabidiol-based medicine that has been authorized for sale: Epidyolex. This drug has the effect of considerably reducing major epileptic seizures in children. Sativex has also been approved, but this drug has a high THC base, enabling it to reduce pain in people with multiple sclerosis. These two drugs are not available in CBD shops, as they are prescription-only products.
How do I find CBD?
Finding CBD in pharmacies is certainly safe, but right now, it's definitely not the right place to get it. First of all, not all pharmacies carry CBD. Secondly, you'll have very little choice if you manage to find a pharmacy that can supply it. Finally, pharmacists are still poorly informed about cannabidiol and the quality of what is currently available on the CBD market.
