CBD vs THC: How does CBD help you get off THC?

CBD vs THC: Is it possible to stop using THC thanks to CBD?

The answer is YES, and the Cali Weed team is very proud to present this article! Thanks to CBD (cannabis known as "light" or "wellness"), a large number of people have been able to stop consuming recreational cannabis with high THC content and regain their cognitive abilities.

Obviously, many THC smokers who don't want to quit won't have the same approach or vision. It's all a question of willpower and the mindset you adopt when faced with a situation like quitting smoking.

CBD or Cannabis light/well-being can provide support in this process of stopping THC.

Molecules present in cannabis

First of all, there's THC, with its "soaring" properties. THC also has the particularity of being addictive (you quickly become hooked!). Stress, nervousness and stomach aches are just some of the symptoms which prove that this psychotropic molecule has unfortunately made you dependent.

For occasional users of THC in recreational cannabis (with a high percentage in the product), this can lead to "bad trips" and even paranoia over the long term.

Products containing THC are prohibited under French law and are considered a drug or narcotic when THC levels exceed 0.2%.

With cannabis light/well-being, you'll find several molecules, including CBD and CBG, but also smaller quantities of CBN, CBC, etc.

These cannabinoids have a range of interesting properties, and this cannabis has been stripped of its high THC dosage so that we can benefit from its relaxing and calming rather than "soaring" properties. This cannabis light is of course completely legal, with a THC content of less than 0.2%.

CBD, like CBG and the other cannabinoids present in the plant, is neither psychoactive nor addictive. Consuming CBD or CBG will therefore not cause any addiction problems!

Some studies show that Cannabis light reduces THC-induced memory impairment.

CBD vs THC: What evidence is there that CBD works to stop THC?

Between 2014 and 2015, researchers succeeded in proving that, thanks to CBD, the rate of consumption in the patients concerned reduced the intake of Cannabis THC without having any adverse effects on health. The same researchers brought together 48 people in this experiment and distributed doses of 200, 400 and 800mg of CBD as well as a placebo to the patients.

The experiment was a success: in 2016, they repeated the experiment, concluding that doses of 400 and 800mg were effective in reducing THC consumption. This study would serve to prove that CBD is not only valid for THC withdrawal, but can also be used for other addictions.

Using Cannabis light/wellness to stop THC

The Cali Weed team is well placed to talk to you about this subject! Indeed, several people in our close circle have been able to overcome their THC addiction thanks to CBD or CBG.

For some people, stopping THC can cause a number of unpleasant side-effects, such as sleep disturbances, increased irritability which often turns into a form of aggression or anger, stomach aches, anxiety and so on.

Psychologically quite difficult, stopping THC is an important decision, and having an ally to support you can be very useful. It's a process that requires willpower, all the more so for long-time regular users.

CBD or Cannabis light/well-being is the obvious way to reduce the stress caused by stopping using THC. In the CBD vs. THC battle, CBD can be a great ally in overcoming THC addiction. It's a helping hand, so why not jump at the chance?

It's also worth remembering that a healthy lifestyle takes precedence over the help that products and supplements can provide. Sport, a healthy, balanced diet and regular sleep are a great combination to avoid relapse. Additional tip: Get outside and enjoy the fresh air, get closer to nature and your loved ones, as boredom is a factor in relapse to THC consumption.

So don't hesitate to ask a doctor for help!
