After a divorce around the age of thirty, he met a new woman who gave him the desire to try cannabis. Jack Herer tried it and immediately understood that the world was now open to a new perspective. He had no idea of the sensations that grass provided and was immediately fulfilled. He changed his vision of things, the war became secondary to him and even completely absurd.

In 1973, Jack Herer co-wrote a comic book about his new passion: Grass. It became the official guide to assessing the quality of cannabis at the time. This rating system was graded from 1 to 10, with 1 being poor quality and 10 being superb quality. It sold over 30,000 copies underground, because yes, cannabis was illegal in the United States at the time. It was at this point that Jack Herer became a key and recognized figure in the cannabis world.

In 1979 he opened a cannabis store in Venice Beach, California with a friend of his to continue his fight.

In 1983 he wrote the book "The Emperor Has No Clothes". This book relates the major ideas of cannabis with many very controversial subjects at the time. This book became number one in sales in the field for a very long time.

Jack Herer unfortunately died in 2009 following several consecutive heart attacks.

It is the result of a cross between a Northern Lights, a Haze and a Shiva Skunk #1, created by Sensi Seeds. The Jack Herer variety is therefore a stable and perfect hybrid variety with 50% Indica and 50% Sativa. Many variants have emerged since then and the most recognized remain those with a leaning towards the sativa side.

The Jack Herer phenotype very often has a minimum of 15% THC levels but can quickly rise to around twenty percent. It is therefore a variety that is really very powerful. It is really advisable to consume the Jack Herer variety during the day, because the effects it provides are much more cerebral than physical in nature.

How to grow Jack Herer?

This strain is not the most difficult to grow, it will give you good yields if in return you give it the nutrients it needs and most importantly, lots of love.

Jack Herer is easy to grow and won't be waiting for anything in particular, except that it tends to be a large plant, reaching up to 180cm. You will therefore need to make arrangements in advance for your growing space.

This strain will often have a slightly more sativa side, while having good resistance to mold and diseases, which is not often the case for Sativa varieties. It will therefore need little maintenance. It is however advisable to grow Jack Herer indoors in order to get the best possible quality. You will need to count on average between 7 and 10 weeks for the flowering of Jack Herer.
